Ted Kartzman is a seasoned expert with 23 years in the independent music industry, seamlessly blending technology with music to champion independent artists and labels. His journey includes impactful roles at Google and YouTube, where he not only licensed 50 million tracks for Google Play Music globally but also managed major content deals for YouTube Music, focusing on the US's largest indie labels and artist distributors. During his 12-year tenure at Google, Ted's passion for promoting emerging artists and genres shone through in various initiatives, including on-campus performances and unique online promotion programs.
Earlier in his career, Ted was at the forefront of the digital music evolution. He co-founded JamBase during the Web 1.0 era, contributed to the development of the pioneering streaming service Rhapsody, and played a key role in early streaming subscription deals. His expertise also extended to overseeing indie label processes at Rhapsody and later at the digital aggregator IODA.
Beyond corporate roles, Ted's experience includes artist management and independent music promotion.
